Head Coach

Tom O'Leary

Coach Tom O’Leary is one of the longest tenured lacrosse coaches in Orange County. A former US Lacrosse Coach of the Year, he enters his sixteenth year as the head coach at Servite High School and proud founder and director of Angel City Training. In 2025, Coach O’Leary and staff led the Servite Friars to a #6 ranked position in Orange County, and #9 overall ranking in SS-CIF Division 1. This would not have been possible without the rigorous off-season training and competition schedule with Angel City.

Coach O’Leary grew up back east on Long Island, New York. He is a 2001 graduate from Huntington High School, in which he was a 3-year varsity soccer player and 2-year varsity lacrosse player. He was recruited to play soccer out of high school. Coach O’Leary attended Southern New Hampshire University in the fall of 2001. After one year in the soccer program he aided the school’s cross country program in winning the 2002 New Hampshire Small School State Championship. In the fall of 2003, Coach O’Leary joined the Southern New Hampshire lacrosse program. For two years he consecutively ran cross country and played lacrosse for Southern New Hampshire until 2004 when he dedicated all his time to the lacrosse program.

A two time captain of the lacrosse program at Southern New Hampshire, Coach O’Leary started his first two seasons at midfield before moving to defense. He played in 36 out of 38 games over his first three seasons before being sidelined due to injury his last season in 2006.

After graduating from Southern New Hampshire with a Bachelors of Science and a Masters in Organizational Leadership, he was asked to return to help coach. For two seasons Coach O’Leary ran the defense and the strength and conditioning for the program and aided in the teams NCAA Division II break through into the top 10. In addition to coaching at the collegiate level, Coach O’Leary was invited to two tryouts at the professional level with the opportunity to compete for a position on the Washington Bayhawks and Chicago Machine in 2006.

In 2008, Coach O’Leary made the trip west to join former college teammate and now Assistant Varsity Coach Mike Hutnick at JSerra High School. From 2009-2010 he aided in winning the lacrosse programs first trinity title, a division two championship, and a division one playoff birth.

Coach O’Leary’s passion for lacrosse goes beyond currently coaching at Servite. He does personal training for local high school/ collegiate players, and is the director of Angel City Lacrosse. Coach O’Leary looks to make Servite a perennial contender for CIF-SS championship. Since taking over the program in 2010, over sixty percent of Servite’s senior lacrosse players, go on to four years colleges to play lacrosse.

Coach O’Leary could not be successful without the loving support of his wife Sandra, young sons Jameson and Jaxson and mentorship from former coach and father Tom Sr.

Varsity Assistant Coach

Mike Hutnick

Coach Michael Hutnick returns to Servite and Angel City for his thirteenth season as a varsity assistant and offensive coordinator. One of Orange County’s finest lacrosse minds, Coach Hutnick started his coaching career here in Southern California in 2006 at JSerra Catholic High School as the programs first assistant. Later becoming the head coach for the program from 2008 to 2010. Following his time at JSerra, Hutnick joined the Servite staff for the 2011 season in between his time at JSerra and San Clemente, where he was the head coach for the 2012 & 2013 seasons.

Coach Hutnick played his collegiate career at Southern New Hampshire University where he was a four-year starter and three-year team captain his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. During his career with the Penmen he earned two All-New England selections, one first team All-New England selection and two All-Conference selections. Coach Hutnick was the first player in team history to earn All-America honors in 2006, and later was inducted into the SNHU Hall of Fame in 2012. Prior to college, Hutnick was a 4-year letter winner at Pinkerton Academy, winning four-straight state championship titles with the Astros. He was a starter for three of the four years at the Academy and was a staple player when the program was listed as the 9th ranked high school lacrosse program in the country, in 2001, and Team Captain in his 2002 senior season.

Beyond his involvements and ties to the lacrosse community, Coach Hutnick is also a major component to the immense national growth of the Blast Athletics fundraising platform. In a post pandemic era where youth sports faced endless hurdles, Coach Hutnick has mentored and guided hundreds of teams nationwide on how to raise money in order to keep sports at the forefront of thousands of children’s lives.

Varsity Assistant Coach

Matthew Prado '12

Coach Prado now enters his tenth season coaching for Angel City and Servite, alongside his former coach, as Varsity Assistant Defensive Coordinator. Coach Prado is the oldest of three brothers (Nick Prado ’14, James Prado ’23) that have all attended Servite and have had the opportunity to play under Coach O’Leary. Prado attended Servite from 2008-2012 where he played Lacrosse, Football, and Golf for the Friars. While only picking up Lacrosse his sophomore year at Servite, Coach Prado quickly fell in love with the sport and found great success in the years to come. After graduating from Servite, Coach Prado had the opportunity to continue his Lacrosse career at the NCAA DIII collegiate level for Whittier College.

At Whittier College, Coach Prado played Defensive Midfielder/LSM and helped lead the Poets to their first appearance at the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament in over 10 years. When not coaching the Men of Servite, Prado works as a Senior Project Engineer for McCarthy Building Companies in Newport Beach, CA. Coach Prado is excited and honored to have the opportunity to be a part of this team for another season. He is extremely grateful for the opportunity to give back to the Servite community and aims to help instill the same values he was taught during his time at Servite.

Varsity Assistant Coach

Brian Dunn

Coach Dunn will be returning for his eighth year as a varsity offensive coordinator. In 2002 Coach Brian Dunn began his lacrosse career as an original founder of the Corona del Mar High School Lacrosse program. Following graduation, Brian attended MCLA D1 powerhouse Chapman University playing in two National Championship games. While Dunn grew up playing close defense, he transitioned to midfield during the fall of his Junior season to concentrate of the face-off X. While at Chapman, Dunn volunteered as the JV Head Coach for his Alma Mater, CdMHS. In 2009 Dunn graduated with a BS from Chapman University focusing in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. In the same year Coach Dunn took over as the Head Coach of Huntington Beach High School, leading the program to their first ever winning season and eventually to a Sunset League Championship. In addition to his outstanding on-field success, Coach Dunn was awarded the Coach’s Achievement Award. While at the helm of HBHS, Dunn began and developed a non-profit organization dedicated to growing lacrosse in the greater Huntington Beach area. As program director, Dunn grew his organization to over 240 players culminating in an OCLA Youth Lacrosse Championship. In addition to his youth organization, Coach Dunn partnered with Coach Tom DeMaio (T12 Lacrosse) to develop national level club teams and training opportunities. In 2014, Dunn and DeMaio launched C12 Elite Lacrosse Camp held on the campus of USD. C12 drew over 200 attendees in it’s inaugural year and has become a staple event for many Southern California lacrosse players. In 2016 Dunn was recruited to coach a promising young team at Tesoro HS in Rancho Santa Margarita. Dunn lead the program to a record of 43-11 over his 3-year tenure including an undefeated regular season in 2018 and being named OC Register 2018 Coach of the Year. When not coaching lacrosse, Coach Dunn works professionally as Managing Director for Western US Capital Markets for the Peachtree Group. He is happily married to his beautiful wife, Chanel, and loving father to little Selah Mae.

Junior varsity Coach

Ricky Gangloff '12

This is Ricky Gangloff’s Fifth year at Servite & Angel City coaching lacrosse. While he mainly coaches the JV offense, he also helps out with warming up goalies at all levels during games and practice. An alumni from the class of 2012, Coach Gangloff grew up playing baseball and football until friends convinced him to try lacrosse in eighth grade. His passion for the sport grew and his first season playing was for the Yorba Linda Orangemen as a Faceoff specialist.

In his freshman year at Servite, Coach Gangloff was one of the only players with prior experience, yielding him a varsity spot playing attack. Additionally he was a natural left handed player which enhanced his value on the roster. After his first season, their lacrosse coach left and current head coach, Tom O’Leary, stepped in to take the program over. Under coach O’Leary, Coach Gangloff was moved from attack to midfield and finished out a very successful career helping the program beat every Trinity league opponent at least once. Both junior and senior years, the program was able to make the division one playoff bracket. In his senior year, Coach Gangloff and the team came very close to upsetting the number one ranked CDM as the sixteenth seed. An extremely memorable experience.

After graduating from Servite in 2012, he was recruited and committed to continue playing lacrosse at Nazareth College in Rochester, located in Upstate New York. As the only player on the roster from the west coast, teammates were shocked to learn that he had only started playing in eighth grade. After his freshman year, it was decided to continue his studies closer to home, where he enrolled at Cal State Fullerton to pursue a bachelor’s degree in finance.

Currently Coach Gangloff is a property tax consultant for Ryan LLC. His position entails disputing their clients tax assessments in fifty two counties of California. He values his experience from both Servite and lacrosse and carries them with him daily in his life and career.

Junior varsity Coach

Michael Seaman '14

The 2026 season will mark Coach Seaman’s Eighth year coaching the Junior Varsity team for Angel City and Servite. He, along with Coach Coleman and Thomas, is a member of the Servite class of 2014 and his lacrosse career began when he was a sophomore at Servite. During his playing days at Servite, Coach Seaman was a two-time varsity team captain and earned Second Team Trinity League honors as a midfielder during his senior season.

After graduation, he continued his playing career at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. While playing for the Rams, Coach Seaman received First and Second Team All-Conference, Second-Team All-American honors, and served his team as a team captain as a senior.

After graduating from CSU with a double major in History and Political Science and a minor in Legal Studies, Coach Seaman attended Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in May 2021. After taking and successfully passing the California Bar Exam in 2021, Coach Seaman now works in Orange County practicing Estate and Business Planning.

Coach Seaman is honored to coach the young men of the program where his lacrosse career began, and looks forward to pursuing his passion and implementing the values and standards of Servite in the student-athletes in the program.

Junior varsity Coach

Ryan Thomas '14

Coach Thomas is in his Eighth year as an assistant in the program and first picked up a lacrosse stick when he was in the 5th grade. He was a student at Servite from 2010 to 2014, where he was a part of Coach O’Leary’s first class of freshmen and started on Varsity for 3 years as both an attackman and midfielder. Once he graduated, he continued his playing career at Chapman University in Orange. While at Chapman, he was a member of the school’s first ever National Championship winning team in 2016. He graduated from Chapman in May of 2018 with a double major in Accounting and Business Administration, with an emphasis in Finance.

After graduation, he began working at a public accounting firm in Irvine with a focus in Tax, while also pursuing his CPA license. He is happily married to his wife, Jenna, and they reside in Orange with their son named Dallas.

Coach Thomas is happy to be back at Servite to help bring the program to the next level, especially in helping with Angel City’s youth initiative, the Squids program. He would like to give back to the next generation of Friar Lacrosse players and help them grow as athletes, teammates, and young men.

Junior varsity Coach

Tyler Coleman '14

Coach Coleman is returning for his Eighth season as a JV coach with Angel City and Servite. He graduated from Servite High School in 2014, playing both football and lacrosse. At Servite, he played midfield his freshman and sophomore years but was asked to change positions his junior year to goalie because of team needs. He was named team captain his senior year and finished Second Team All Trinity League. He went on to play at Whittier College as a goalie from his freshman to junior year, ultimately winding back at midfield his senior year where he was named starter. Coach Coleman enjoys giving back to the Servite and Angel City Lacrosse Programs since he is thankful for his time playing under Coach O’Leary. Tyler is part of a large Servite alumni family with his father Greg ’88, Uncle Garrett ’01, brother Chase ’19, and step brothers Christian Labow ‘17 and Mason Labow ’23.
